🦁✨ June Recap | Digital Safety Conversations at all levels.Ā šŸŽÆ

June is here! So let's tell the truth about who's being targeted

Welcome back, Lioness community. This month we're talking about something that hits close to home — literally. The threats showing up in our inboxes, on our apps, and in our phones are not accidents. They are patterns. And we are here to break them.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE WORLD!

Your dating history is now a dataset!

In January 2026, a breach at Bumble exposed over 30GB of user data — including full names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and dating preferences — on a platform where women make up the majority of users. A class action lawsuit followed, alleging the breach was preventable. This isn't just about who you matched with. It's about what someone can now piece together about you.

This is exactly why digital safety is not optional — it's a form of self-defense. This is what we train for.

5 Breaches you need to know

Here's what's been hitting close to home:
1. Bumble — Same breach as above, now formally facing a class action lawsuit alleging it was "preventable." If you've ever swiped, your data may already be on the dark web — and you likely wouldn't know unless you checked.
2. Carnival Cruise — Nearly 6 million travelers had names, home addresses, passport numbers, and dates of birth stolen after a social engineering attack tricked an employee into granting access. If you cruise, check your email.
3. Zara — 197,000 shoppers had emails, geographic locations, and purchase histories exposed. A brand with a majority-female customer base. Your shopping habits reveal your location patterns.
4. Aura — A company that sellsĀ identity protection was itself breached via voice phishing, exposing 900,000 records including home addresses and phone numbers. Even your safety tools have vulnerabilities.
5. Canvas LMS — 8,809 universities worldwide were affected. Private student messages, medical accommodation requests, and advisor conversations were accessed. If you're a student or educator, you were likely impacted.

The pattern?Ā Women's spaces. Women's data. Women's trust — exploited.

The solution?Ā Start with a digital safety audit.
